President Barack Obama bid farewell to the nation on Tuesday night in a 50-minute formal from his adopted hometown of Chicago.

In his address, he implored the nation to be cautious, jealous protector of our democracy.”

As a matter of fact, the entire speech focused on the values of the democratic system given the danger he perceives from his successor, Donald Trump, though he avoided calling him by name except once.

And the one time he mentioned his successor Donald Trump was when he said that the president-elect committed to a peaceful transition of power.

But he warned that Democrats shouldn’t change their beliefs to that of the commander-in-chief in future.

Also during the speech, the out-going president proved that he is a loving husband, father and friend with a tender heart and a good sense of humour.

Clearly emotional, Obama highlighted his achievements of the last eight years ranging from health care to marriage equality, while promising that his work isn’t finished.

As he spoke before an uncontrollable crowd of supporters, Obama was constantly interrupted with screams of “I Love you Obama.” When a protester holding a “Pardon All of Us” sign, chants of “four more years” drowned out the shouts.

Obama teared up while lauding his wife and children despite Shasha’s absence.

During his speech on Tuesday, Obama’s voice quaked when describing his wife’s service.

“You took on a role you didn’t ask for and made it your own with grace and grit and style and good humor,” he said. “You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody.

Barack Obama later ended his speech with the iconic political mantra he introduced years ago “Yes we can” saying “Yes we did”.

The soon to be ex-president has always lavished his Michelle Obama with praises.

Sadly, among the theories, Sasha was nowhere around the spot. You might be wondering why and probably think she was on an elite anti-terrorism mission or searching for President-elect Trump’s tax returns.

But no, she had a boring night as a senior administration official says Sasha missed the speech because she has an exam in the morning.

She sat for an hour-long interview with Oprah Winfrey, frankly admitting that Democrats were now “feeling what not having hope feels like.”

She became emotional during her final set of formal remarks at the White House on Friday. With her voice quaked and eyes welling with tears, she told a crowd of educators: “I hope I made you proud.”

The Obamas have made history, not only for being the first black family to live in the White House as the first family but also for Barrack’s political legacy, memorable public speeches and unprecedented approval ratings as well as their family unity and love.
